Will transport be powered by electricity in the future? Will it be possible to avoid traffic congestion and stuffy air in years to come using an extensive network of cycling paths? And what options do public transport companies have to pave the way for a sustainable future?

For many years, numerous projects qualified by KlimaExpo.NRW have been focusing on these topics as well as on other important areas in the field of climate-friendly mobility.

From 1st to 9th September 2018 KlimaExpo.NRW is therefore setting out to visit these climate pioneers – accompanied by a prominent ambassador.

The KlimaTour2018 will travel from the region of Cologne and Bonn, via Aachen, the Ruhr metropolitan region and the Bergisch tri-city area before arriving in Southern Westphalia, Ostwestfalen-Lippe and the Münsterland region. Everyone involved in the tour will be using methods of transport that are geared entirely towards climate-friendly mobility: whether in the city, in the countryside or on the waterways.

In the coming weeks, this page will reveal which prominent individual is accompanying KlimaExpo.NRW on its fascinating tour this year in order to learn more about North Rhine-Westphalia’s climate pioneers. There’s plenty to look forward to!

One thing is already certain: like last year, a daily blog will once again share impressions from the tour. You can also keep up-to-date via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – using our app and, of course, through our newsletter.
